Peng Zhang

Peng Zhang is an Associate Professor at the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences, University of Michigan (UM), Ann Arbor. He was an Associate Professor from 2021 to 2024 and an Assistant Professor from 2016 to 2021 at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Michigan State University. He received the B.Eng. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and the Ph.D. degree in nuclear engineering and radiological sciences from UM. He has authored/co-authored more than 120 refereed journal publications on high power microwaves, diodes, space-charge-limited current flows, multipactor and breakdown, laser–plasma interaction, ultrafast photoemission, and novel miniaturized radiation sources. Prof. Zhang was a recipient of the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) Young Investigator Program (YIP) Award, the Office of Naval Research (ONR) YIP Award, and the IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society (NPSS) Early Achievement Award.
