Carlos Zavala

Dr. Carlos Zavala is the Chief Engineer of the EgoMotion team in the department of Automated Driving, at Qualcomm. His current assignments focus on developing vehicle state estimation as well as vehicle control algorithms for automated driving applications. He has also worked in the area of Advanced Propulsion Controls, where he developed software for new transmissions and combustion engine systems, at General Motors.

He received a degree of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Subsequently, he earned a MSc degree in Control Systems at the University of Sheffield, in England and later a PhD in Control Systems at the University of California, Berkeley.
