Dr. Christopher R. Valenta

Dr. Christopher R. Valenta is a Principal Research Engineer and associate division head at the Georgia Tech Research Institute Electro-Optical Systems Laboratory. He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and Optical Engineering (OE) from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and the Masters of Science and Doctoral Degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. His research interests lay in remote sensing, active & passive electro-optics, LIDAR, space situational awareness, microwave and milli-meter wave sensing, wireless power, radio frequency identification, and digital signal processing. His research has been documented in over 100 publications and has been cited over 1,600 times. Dr. Valenta is also an adjunct professor in the Georgia Tech School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the winner of the 2015 IEEE Microwave Magazine Best Paper Award, a 2020 SPIE Rising Researcher, and a registered professional engineer in the state of Georgia.
