Dr. Joseph Greene
Dr. Joseph Greene is a Research Engineer at Georgia Tech Research Institute where he conducts research in the area of computational imaging for remote sensing applications. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering in 2018 and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2024 from Boston University. His thesis involved using deep optics approaches to design and integrate custom diffractive optics into microscopy platforms to push the capacity of miniaturized and tabletop platforms in imaging the neural activity in freely behaving animals. He is the recipient of the NSF Neurophotonics Research Trainee: Understanding the Brain and BUnano Cross-Disciplinary fellowships. Outside the lab, Joe is an avid volunteer within the IEEE-HKN honors society, where he is currently appointed as chair of global graduate student programs. Over his 7 years of volunteerism, Joe has been an enthusiastic leader and developer of targeted initiatives ranging from podcasts to educational training events and mentoring initiatives to directly impact the career of thousands of students worldwide.
